Cardinal Charter Academy Innovative Teachers’ Aide Program Helps Middle School Students Take Active Role in Teaching and Learning
Innovative Teacher Assistant elective brings older students together with younger students while helping teachers and gaining class credit. The Teacher Assistant elective allows seventh and eighth grade students to perform teaching assistant duties which has benefits for both the mentors and mentees. Teachers see benefits as younger students excitedly learn site words or simple math from an older student. Older students learn new levels of responsibility and in some cases, turn around failing grades.
