Breakthrough: Sequencing Functional Antibody Proteins Directly from Human Blood
In a world’s first, antibody proteins were sequenced directly from the serum of a vaccinated human patient using mass-spectrometry. A sub-fraction of the IgG was enriched, sequenced and produced recombinantly, and demonstrated to neutralize the target. This breakthrough antibody discovery technology offers direct access to functional antibody molecules produced and selected by the human immune system - a shortcut to safe and effective therapeutics.
